Manon au Japon started out of simple love for Japan, and a desire to share my experience, and my love for drawing cartoonish and more sophisticated things. Most of what I post has ended up being a part of a personal introspection, and I hope to continue sharing even now that I am back in Europe, far from Tokyo.
As a student in Paris, I still consider Japan as a part of my identity, even if I am far from being Japanese. There are moments when I wish I could teleport myself back to Japan, and others when I find Japan closer to home, in everyday life in Paris, whether it be during an exhibition, a stroll in the city, an Asian store, and what not. What is certain today is that I truly want to continue posting about Japan, which is why this blog will remain Manon au Japon - in Paris - for a while. There is always a part of me "au Japon", in the way I look at things, and in the way I evolve.
